About the Role
Position Summary:
The Lead Childcare Teacher plays a critical role in fostering a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children ages 2–12. This role involves curriculum planning, behavior guidance, emotional support, and coordination with families and support staff to ensure holistic care. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, reliable, and committed to trauma-informed and inclusive practices.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Create and implement daily lesson plans that are age-appropriate, inclusive, and developmentally supportive
Foster a safe, emotionally responsive, and respectful environment for all children
Supervise children at all times with a strong awareness of safety and risk prevention
Communicate daily with parents/guardians about children’s progress, behaviors, and milestones
Collaborate with assistant teachers, support staff, and case managers
Document attendance, incidents, and progress in alignment with licensing requirements
Promote social-emotional learning and positive behavior management strategies
Participate in staff training, development workshops, and team meetings
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
Qualifications:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in early childhood education or related childcare role
High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain before start date)
Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices highly preferred
Must pass a fingerprint clearance and background check
Strong communication skills, empathy, and patience
